Service Crew

Serving as a kitchen aide or groom aide is a great way to learn to work as a team, put others first, and develop the heart of a servant leader. Service crew camper program spots are available during all weeks of camp for Explorers, with a maximum of two weeks of service crew per camper each summer.

*Must have a valid NY state work permit

Groom Aides

Learn the behind the scenes of what it means to run and work in a barn. Work hard with alongside of your cabin mates while spending time in the stables.

Groom Aide General Duties:

  • Feed and water horses daily before breakfast, lunch, and dinner

  • Clean stalls, stable, and paddock area

  • Groom horses daily

  • Assist in preparing horses for classes

  • Must abide by these and other appropriate regulations: No one works alone with horses. An instructor must be present when horses are being ridden

Kitchen Aides

Serving as a kitchen aide will open your eyes to a world where you can both work really hard and have fun. It will also lay a groundwork for understanding healthy teams. Help the heart of camp function and have an impact on everyone at camp.

Kitchen Aide General Duties:

  • Setting tables

  • Serving food to tables

  • Washing dishes and pots

  • Rotate responsibilities during meals

  • Sweep and wash kitchen, pantry, and cooler floors

7:30 Arrive at kitchen; clean and set tables
8:00 Morning Watch
8:25 Return to kitchen; serve breakfast
8:40 Breakfast
9:00 Breakfast clean up; wash pots and dishes
10:25 Bible Exploration
11:30 Lunch Preparation; return to kitchen
12:10 Lunch
12:30 Lunch clean up; wash pots, dishes, sweep mop
2:30 Free Time followed by two Activities
5:30 Dinner Preparation; set tables
6:25 Dinner
6:45 Dinner clean up
7:30 Join Divisional/All Camp Evening Program
