⛺ Camp Cedarbrook September Newsletter

‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.
Matthew 22:37-40 NIV

Summer 2024: A Season to Remember!

As we wrap up another amazing summer at Camp Cedarbrook, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your unwavering support and God’s help has made it possible for us to impact lives and continue our mission. We are already looking ahead with excitement to 2025, which will mark our 60th summer!

Here are just a few of the highlights from Summer 2024 (we’ll share a full report in our year-end letter):

  • 581 camper weeks

  • 64  staff members

  • 39  volunteers

  • $29,500 in scholarships awarded to 56 campers

  • 7 CILTs (Counselors in Leadership Training) graduated and joined our staff

  • 11 LEAD campers

We are so blessed to serve a loving and faithful God, who continually provides us the opportunity to pour into young girls’ lives and make a lasting impact on their faith journeys. We do not take this privilege for granted, and we are full of gratitude for His safety, protection, and provision throughout this past summer.

Your support has been felt in so many ways this year:

  • 114 volunteers at our work weekends

  • Work crews from Sparta Church (Sparta, NJ) and Pine Knolls Alliance (South Glens Falls, NY)

  • 49 alumni prayer partners lifting us up throughout the summer

  • $27,159.18 raised through our summer fundraiser

As we move into the off-season, a time when we experience leaner months, we ask for your continued partnership in both prayer and financial support. We didn’t quite reach our camper goal, falling short by 24 campers—this shortfall represents a gap of $18,000 in our budget. Would you prayerfully consider helping us close this gap to ensure Camp Cedarbrook remains strong and ready for another season of ministry in 2025?

When asked what changes they’ve seen in their daughter since returning home from Cedarbrook, one parent wrote this:

“Enthusiasm for singing, desire to catch lizards :), reading her Bible on an almost daily basis.”

What more could we ask for! Together, we can continue to make an eternal impact in the lives of young girls for many summers to come.

In Christ,

Amy “Ellie” Culhane
Executive Director

What’s going on with the capital campaign? I’m glad you asked!

We're diligently working through the permitting process, aiming to start construction next year. Currently, we're evaluating our septic system, a critical step for gaining Adirondack Park Agency approval and moving forward with our plans to transform the Nightingale Perch into a fully operational Health Hut. We've already achieved 62% of our funding goal. Your continued support and contributions can truly make a difference.
