Summer 2023 Recap

*|MC:SUBJECT|*

“Memories of camp we’ll cherish, everywhere we roam. Looking toward that glad reunion in our heavenly home.”

These words close out each session as the entire camp sings our theme song with candles lit. I will cherish SO many memories from this past summer: an epic thunderstorm resulting in a power outage, all camp swim on a hot day, laughs shared at the variety show, and many new verses added to “Oh you can’t get to heaven.”

Most of all, I will cherish the opportunity to impact the next generation for Jesus and share God’s love with them. We saw the most campers in fourteen years and our largest staff in recent memory! Many lives are being changed at camp through this ministry and the power of God’s Holy Spirit.

One of my favorite questions from our camper evaluations is, “What should we never change about camp?” Here are some responses from this summer:

“The community vibe, fun activities, and we should never stop learning about God.”

“How great the counselors are. How the Bible is clearly taught in an understandable and relatable way.”

“The Godly aspects of camp are the best ones and I think honoring him through everything at camp should never change.”

We have already started planning for summer 2024 and I anticipate that many girls will want to return for another life-changing summer at camp.

Would you consider a special gift to Camp Cedarbrook’s Next Generation Fund today? We’re facing a $30,000 budget shortfall in donations as we close our our fiscal year on September 30. Your gift today will have a direct impact on our ability to plan and prepare for next year.
